What is Applied Behavior Analysis?

The most effective and promising treatment

“Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is best known for its success in treating individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities (e.g., Down syndrome, intellectual disabilities). Treatment in this area is effective across an individual’s lifespan (i.e., childhood, adolescence, adulthood).

In young children with developmental disabilities such as ASD, the goal of intensive, comprehensive intervention is to improve cognitive, language, social, and self-help skills.” (from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board)

Our Big Dream is a bright future for the children we serve
Dream Big ABA
Our motto:
There is no greater satisfaction than what we get from watching how day-to-day therapeutic sessions result in the progress of the children we care for.
Our Mission:
Provide Behavior Analysis services to children that need it to improve their cognitive, language, social and self-help skills employing a qualified team of professionals.
Our main goal:
To prepare these children for life in society and help them develop their capabilities to the highest threshold they can reach.
“If they can’t learn the way we teach, we teach the way they learn.”
Ivar Lovaas  (1927–2010)
Lovaas became one of the pioneers of Applied Behavior Analysis. His role in the development of ABA was shaped by his own behavioral preconditions and an environment established by his peers.
How we do what we do
Our staff of therapists include:
BCBA
Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA’s) are the Lead Analysts and are the professionals responsible for the initial and recurrent assessments of children. They will design Behavior Analysis Services Programs (BASP), that are the guide lining documents of therapy children should receive and will conduct their own therapy sessions, provide training on handling problem behaviors and interventions to the family and supervise the team in charge of therapeutic services.
BCaBA
Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA’s) are assistant analysts that work together with a BCBA. They provide direct therapy to the children, as well as training to the family, under the supervision of a Lead Analyst (a BCBA). BCaBA’s will also supervise and provide guidelines to the RBT’s based upon the BASP as created by the Lead Analyst.
RBT
Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT’s) conduct day by day therapy sessions under the supervision of the BCBA/BCaBA’s. RBT’s have a very important role in the improvement and progress of children they care. They will follow and implement interventions as directed by the analysts following the BASP and conduct skill acquisition programs to enhance children’s capabilities and reduce problem behaviors.

Patient’s Saying
My 3 year old loves it! He adores his therapists, and they have a lot of fun together. In my limited experience, a “good” ABA intervention, especially for kids as young as ours’, will be highly naturalistic and child led. Lots of games, and very integrated into what they want and need to do anyway. In our case, his therapists are with him at preschool in the morning every day.

They helped us potty train my (at the time) 3.5 year old. He’s now 4 and pretty independent with that. I’ll find him sitting on the toilet by himself, no need for prompting or reminding. He’s also improved a lot in speech and communication. He’s also a lot more open to interacting with kids his age. He’s a level 3
